Apparently if you build it, sometimes they still don’t come.  This is the ongoing issue facing manufacturers across the country as they struggle to find skilled workers to fuel their plants. According to the recent Prime Advantage CFO Survey, an all-time survey high of 71% of financial executives at manufacturing Member companies are searching for qualified labor to fill open positions.worker-at-a-manufacturing-plant

Thankfully, some manufacturing companies are not sitting idly by waiting for this problem to repair itself.  As we previously mentioned in Manufacturers Use Ingenuity to Overcome Dearth of Qualified Workers, proactive manufacturers are implementing training programs to home-grow skilled labor and facilitating education curriculum to prospective employees on the cutting-edge manufacturing landscape of today.

Hopefully this will inspire other companies to do the same as this is not a problem facing one single business. An industry problem requires banding together to form an industry solution. As we approach our Spring Conference later this month, we’re looking forward to hearing more of these success stories from our Member Companies.
